Welcome!

My name is Britt. I am 27 years old and I have been into photography since I was 10 years old. I started out on my mom's 35mm film Canon camera. After high school, I took a black and white photography class at a community college in Ft. Myers, Florida, my home town. My grandfather had passed down his beloved film camera to me to use while I was in school. Unfortunately, the camera was old, and could not handle the workload of projects that I had.

I moved to Louisiana a few years later (Sept. 2007) to join a school that travels the world (and a lot of high schools) performing skits, songs, film productions, and much more. I was always found behind the scenes with a camera in hand, capturing as much as I could. I had my hands in graphic design, photography, film producing and editing, sound engineering, stage lighting, stage design, performing arts, and even live music performances on stage. To help make money, I would take up second shooter jobs with my teacher at weddings and special events.

All of these things are still filling me with passion, even though I have been out of touch with them for a few years. I am now re-educating myself and working my way back up to where I was in skill and knowledge. Although I have never done freelance photography officially, I have much experience with operating a business with the public, and have had training in being a professional freelance photographer while I was traveling with the school.

I currently shoot with a Canon Rebel XS with a number of different lenses, a tripod, a remote, and a simple Speedlite 430EXII. This is not my ideal or dream setup, but as we all know, you have to start somewhere. I have experience with pro series cameras, and I am eager to earn and save money for more professional grade equipment.

Some of my favorite styles of photography are close ups of nature, long exposures of nature, antique vehicles and the general vintage lifestyle, along with food design (I am also very passionate about cooking and baking Vegan food), product photography, wedding and special event photography, and portrait photography. I have recently been pushing myself more towards fashion, so that I can be well rounded. I am keen to learn more in any genre and welcome critiques and suggestions warmly.
